Summary of Content: This is apparently the first time Aurelia has written to Sarah in about eighteen months, though she thinks her husband has written more recently. She reports that she and her husband lost two more babies: John Joseph and Aurelia Ada, and that he was ill following that. Her son Thomas, however, is still quite healthy. She says that the conflict between them and their brother James was due to a misunderstanding.

Background Information: Aurelia Hale was born in Glastonbury, in Hartford, Connecticut sometime before 20 December 1798.
